Ubiquiti UniFi Network Video Recorder G2 Pro

A 2U rack-mount NVR designed for medium and large camera systems built on the UniFi Protect platform.

The device is powered by a Qualcomm Kryo processor on Arm Cortex architecture (4 nm) with a total of 8 cores and 16 GB of RAM, while the integrated Edge AI enables vector object encoding, semantic search, image-based search, and advanced person re-identification (ReID) directly on the device. The system supports deployment of up to 100 HD, 70 2K, or 50 4K cameras.

Video storage is provided by 8 drive bays for 2.5" or 3.5" drives with RAID support and a maximum drive power budget of 155 W. Network connectivity is provided by a 10G SFP+ port and a 2.5 GbE RJ-45 port. The device also supports physical access management via the UniFi Access application and connectivity for more than 150 access hubs.

Expanding AI Performance
For demanding deployments, one or more AI Key modules can be added to the NVR G2 Pro to expand Edge AI processing capacity, reduce latency, and ensure no event is missed. The AI Key also adds AI Summaries, speech transcription, and face and license plate recognition features for G4 and G5 cameras. The AI Port module enables advanced detection, face recognition, and license plate recognition for third-party cameras or legacy UniFi camera models.

Management and Software
The NVR G2 Pro is managed via the UniFi Protect application (version 7.1.55 or later) and UniFi Access (version 4.2.16 or later). Management is performed via Ethernet or Bluetooth. The device supports migration from existing UniFi Protect deployments; the migration process depends on the system configuration, backup availability, and software version.

Mounting and Installation
The device is designed for mounting in a 19" rack (2U). For secure installation, the included sliding rack rails (UniFi Sliding Rack Rails) are recommended, especially once drives are installed, as the total weight increases significantly. For installations in two-post racks without rail support, a rack shelf providing bottom support is recommended.
